WOMENS MEDICINE CIRCLE & MENS MEDICINE CIRCLE (collectively, “the Organizations”) offer plant medicine ceremonies, medicine circles, and related events (collectively, “Events”) to foster spiritual growth and healing. By participating in any Event, you (“Participant”) agree to the following terms and conditions, releasing the Organizations, their facilitators, staff, volunteers, landowners, and affiliates (collectively, “Released Parties”) from liability.
1. Acknowledgment of Risks
I understand that participation in Events, including but not limited to ayahuasca, cacao, psilocybin, or Huachuma ceremonies, involves inherent risks, including:
  • Physical effects (e.g., nausea, dizziness, altered states of consciousness).
  • Emotional or psychological effects (e.g., intense emotions, confronting past traumas).
  • Environmental risks (e.g., outdoor settings, uneven terrain).
  • Unforeseen reactions to plant medicines, which may vary based on my health, medications, or psychological state.
I acknowledge that these risks cannot be fully eliminated, even with experienced facilitators and safety protocols. I have consulted, or will consult, a qualified healthcare professional to ensure participation is safe for me, particularly if I have pre-existing medical or psychological conditions or am taking medications.
2. Assumption of Risk
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in the Events, whether known or unknown, and accept full responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses I may incur, including physical, emotional, or financial harm.
3. Release and Waiver of Liability
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Events, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Released Parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death that may occur as a result of my participation in the Events, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, costs, or liabilities, including legal fees, arising from my participation in the Events or any breach of this agreement.
5. Compliance with Laws
I understand that the Organizations operate in compliance with Canadian laws and regulations regarding plant medicine ceremonies. I have been informed of the legal status of the substances used in the Events and agree to participate only in legally sanctioned activities. I will consult with the Organizations for details on practices and participation requirements.
6. Health and Safety
I certify that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in the Events and have disclosed any relevant medical or psychological conditions to the Organizations during the registration process. I agree to follow all safety guidelines provided by facilitators, including dietary preparations (e.g., dieta) and event protocols.
7. Media Release
I grant the Organizations permission to use photographs, videos, or recordings of me taken during the Events for promotional or educational purposes, unless I explicitly opt out in writing.
8. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of ONTARIO and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved in the courts of ONTARIO.
